If you saw me in the back of a cop car, what would you think I was doing in there?

Answer me, then post this in your own journal to see how many different crimes you get accused of committing.

You are in a mall when the zombies attack. You have:
1. one weapon.
2. one song blasting on the speakers.
3. one famous person to fight alongside you.

Weapon can be real or fictional, you may assume endless ammo if applicable. Person can be real or fictional.

Weapon - Shaolin Spade
Song - Queen's Don't Stop Me Now
Person - Bruce Campbell (how could it not be?)

Book Meme

Seen... in several places:

These are the top 106 books most often marked as "unread" by LibraryThing's users (as of today). As usual, bold what you have read, italicise what you started but couldn't finish, and strike through what you couldn't stand. The numbers after each one are the number of LT users who used the tag of that book.

Books, books, books... )

This list tells me two things: One, that I rarely if ever fail to finish a book after I've started it, regardless of my feelings about it (borne out by my pile of books by my bead that I've recently finished/re-read, which includes several Dean Koontz books which I didn't enjoy but read all the way through, dammit!, and a Necroscope book; and two, I really need to read more. About half that list had me going, "Yes, I've always mean to read that..."

1. List five celebrities you would have sex with without even asking questions.
2. Put all of them IN ORDER of your lust for them. (One is the hottest.)
3. Say which movie/show/thing it was that hooked you.
4. Supply photos for said people.
5. Tag five friends.

I'm not tagging anyone 'cause Nick prety much tagged everyone I'd have tagged. But if you feel like doing this, hey, go nuts.

I saw this meme... somewhere, and liked it, so decided to steal it for here...

1. Go to IMDB.com and look up 10 of your favorite movies.
2. Post (three or four) official IMDB "Plot Keywords" for each.
3. Guess the movies!

Look here for keywords! )

I'm still alive! Really.

It's just that it's taken me a bit of time to get used to my new job (which I haven't been fired from yet) and the crushing exhaustion I get when I get home from each shift. Also, I've not exactly had the best run of luck at work so far:

On my first shift I came down with food poisoning or something, threw up twice in the toilets and had to sign off after only 5 and a half hours.

On the second shift it rained so badly on the way to work that I was drenched before I even got on the bus.

On the third shift it rained again, only this time it was while I was at work... in the garden centre. I got drenched again.

On the fourth shift a shelf full of heavy rolls of vinyl wallpaper fell on my arm, thus introducing me to the wonderful world of Health and Safety proceedures.

So yeah... it's been an interesting time. The job itself isn't that difficult - you get a special barcode-reading gun and get sent out to scan everything in the area you're assigned to, making notes of how much stuff there is as you go along - but it's usually in B&Q warehouses in the middle of the night, after several hours' worth of driving to get there, and then several hours back (Earliest I've gotten in so far is 5:30am). So there's lots of walking up and down aisles, and lots of shifting stock around so that you can scan it, and a fair bit of climbing on ladders and the like. It can get tiring very quickly.

Still, they've not fired me yet, so I only have nice things to say about them. Honest.

This upcoming week, I got to go to Exeter on Monday (five hour drive each way), Warminster on Wednesday (wonder if I should look out for the 'Thing') and Chester on Sunday. So I may not be posting too much in the first half of the week again.

Oh, and here's something I saw on Amara's journal:

Online Dating

Mingle2 - Online Dating

I did it for my writing journal too (you know, the one with the slash), only it came out as G-rated...

As seem in [livejournal.com profile] ebon_bear's journal...

If you could assemble your own superteam of any characters (fictional, historical, or modern real people) for some world-spanning epic fantasy adventure, who would they be? Pick your team according to role and function. Some characters can play multiple functions. Who would work well together and who would clash?

TEAM LEADER/ORGANISER: Mina Murray (League of Extraordinary Gentlemen). Anyone who can control Mr Hyde and make the rest of the League get on (for the most part) has to have a leadership role.

OTHER TEAM LEADER/FIELD LEADER: Six-Pack (Hitman/Section 8). He knows all the other superheroes, he's loyal, brave... and if he's this good drunk, what's he going to be like sober?

GADGETEER/INVENTOR/OCCASIONAL MYSTIC: Forge (X-Men). His mutant power to understand machinery and build just about anything would always come in handy, and he's also got some shamanistic powers (even if he doesn't like to use them). Also useful for reining in the team damage-dealer (see below).

TANK/SIEGE-BREAKER/GENERAL HEAVY-HITTER/TEAM CONSCIENCE: The Thing (Fantastic Four). When it comes to hitting things till they break/fall over, there are very few better. Plus, he's down-to-earth enough to keep the others grounded.

TOO-POWERFUL DAMAGE-DEALER/TELEPATH: Nate Grey (X-Man/X-Men). Oh, come on, you knew he'd be in here somewhere...

DEUX EX MACHINA: Galen (Crusade/Babylon 5). Always turns up at the last minute to save the day with his technomage abilities. Plus he and Forge would get on brilliantly.

SCOUT/NINJA/HACKER: Shadowcat (X-Men). Her ability to phase would be pretty much invaluable in getting into places, plus she can take care of herself if she's ever caught.

PUBLIC RELATIONS/PUBLIC SPEAKER/TANK: Statesman (City of Heroes). He's patriotic and a known and loved superhero symbol. If anything ever goes wrong, he'd be able to talk the authorities out of prosecuting.

COMIC RELIEF: Baytor (Hitman). I am BAYTOR!

1. Grab the closest book to you.
2. Turn to page 123.
3. Find the 5th sentence.
4. Post the sentence in your weblog along with these instructions.
5. Don't grab a 'cool' book, just the one closest to you.

"They tell him that its purpose is to destroy insect pests."

In 2007, darkkat resolves to...
Give up crop circles.
Find a new neverwhere.
Buy new rpgs.
Apply for a new baytor.
Spend less time on x-men.
Ask my boss for a nanowrimo.

Get your own New Year's Resolutions:

They are just so wonderfully apropo, aren't they? (although I'll never give up crop circles!)

I swear [livejournal.com profile] ebon_bear tagged me because he wanted to see how much he could embarrass me with this...

"List ten fictional figures you would have sex with (in no particular order) and tag 5 people to do the same::"

1. Seth Gecko (From Dusk Till Dawn)
2. Santanico Pandemonium (From Dusk Till Dawn)
3. Dean Winchester (Supernatural)
4. Spike BtVS/Angel)
5. Lilah Morgan (Angel)
6. Dick Grayson (DC comics)
7. Faith (BtVS/Angel)
8. Richard Sharpe (Sharpe)
9. Ash (Evil Dead trilogy)
10. Nate Grey (X-Men)

I'm not tagging anyone. Or I'm tagging everyone. Go nuts with it.

Seen on so many people's journals now, and being used now because I'm too tired right now to do much else...

Go to http://www.popculturemadness.com/music and find the year you turned 18, or the year you graduated high school. Bold the songs you liked and strike through the ones you loathed at the time.

The ones that aren't marked/struck through are either those songs which you don't have an opinion on or are ones you don't particularly remember.

1. Barbie Girl - Aqua
2. ESPN Presents Jock Jams - Various Artists
3. Wannabe - Spice Girls
4. Tubthumping - Chumbawamba
5. To The Moon and Back - Savage Garden
6. You Make Me Wanna - Usher
7. I Like It Like That - Blackout All-Stars
8. Hard To Say I'm Sorry - Az Yet
9. Crash Into Me - Dave Matthews Band
10. Fly - Sugar Ray

Personally, I'm thinking I'd have known more if it hadn't had so many artists who've barely had an outing in this country... or maybe my memory's particularly bad this year...

(As seen on [livejournal.com profile] wantmybed's lj...)

Last year...

...I was doing NaNo (no surprise there!), but had just buggered up my shoulder, which put something of a crimp in things.

...our (ex)-landlord (may he come to the attention of people in high places!) allegedly replaced our cooker. This 'new' cooker broke four days later.

...some lugnut pissed me off and scared me a little by telling Nick that, if it weren't for the fact that he [lugnut] was a Christian, he'd kill Nick for being a Luciferian. Fun times.
